Es un común artificio de Satanás el hacernos darnos por vencidos con nuestra lectura de la Biblia y con el tiempo que pasamos en oración, haciendonos perder nuestro gozo al hacerlo. Alguien dijo alguna vez: “Si el Cristiano promedio alimentara sus cuerpos a la manera que alimentan sus almas, estarían sólo en pellejo y huesos”.
Aveces cuando la gente está enferma su médico les recomienda que deben alimentarse bien para mantenerse fuertes aún si han perdido el apetito y no tengas ganas de comer. En tiempo el apetito regresará, pero mientras tanto el cuerpo necesita los nutrientes para sanar por sí mismo.
Mientras que es normal para el Cristiano el gozarse leyendo la Palabra de Dios y orando, debemos continuar con nuestra lectura y oraciones, sin importar cómo nos sintamos para que podamos mantener nuestra fuerza. La única medicina que necesitamos para recobrar nuestra fuerza y nuestro apetito espiritual viene através de la oración y leyendo la Palabra de Dios.
George Muller un gran guerrero de la oración escribió: “La manera de obtener un espíritu de oración es en la continua oración; entre menos leemos la Palabra de Dios, menos será nuestro deseo para leerla, y entre menos oremos, menos será también nuestro deseo para orar”.
Satanás tiene muchas formas para engañar a la gente de Dios, pero cuando el busca impedir nuestra vida de oración su ataque es para separarnos de la única fuente de misericordia, gracia y ayuda que necesitamos.
“Acerquémonos, pues, con confianza al trono de la gracia para que alcancemos misericordia y hallemos gracia para el oportuno socorro”. Hebreos 4:16
“Orando en todo tiempo en el Espíritu con toda oración y ruego ... ”. Efesios 6:18
Y cuando Satanás impide nuestra lectura de la Palabra de Dios su ataque es para separarnos de la única fuente para nuestro alimento necesario, por medio del cual nos fortifica con todos los nutrientes espirituales que necesitamos para una perfecta salud espiritual.
“Fueron halladas tus palabras, y yo las comí. Tus palabras fueron para mí el gozo y la alegría de mi corazón ... ”. Jeremías 15:16
“Y que desde tu niñez has conocido las Sagradas Escrituras, las cuales te pueden hacer sabio para la salvación por medio de la fe que es en Cristo Jesús. Toda la Escritura es inspirada por Dios y es útil para la enseñanza, para la reprensión, para la corrección, para la instrucción en justicia, a fin de que el hombre de Dios sea perfecto, enteramente capacitado para toda buena obra”. 2 Timoteo 3:15-17
“para que no seamos engañados por Satanás, pues no ignoramos sus propósitos”. 2 Corintios 2:11

“Hindered from praying and reading”
It is a common device of Satan to make us give up reading the Bible and spending time in prayer by making us loose our enjoyment of doing so. Someone once said, “If the average Christian fed their bodies the way they feed their souls they would be all skin and bones.”
Sometimes when people are sick their doctor will remind them that they must eat to keep up their strength even when their appetite is gone and they don’t feel like it. In time their appetite will return, but in the mean time the body needs the nourishment in order to heal itself.
While it is normal for a Christian to enjoy reading God’s word and praying, we ought to continue to read and pray no matter how we feel in order to keep up our strength. The very medicine we need to recover our strength and our spiritual appetite comes through prayer and reading the word of God.
George Muller the great prayer warrior wrote, “The way to obtain a spirit of prayer is to continue praying; for the less we read the Word of God, the less we desire to read it, and the less we pray, the less we desire to pray.”
Satan has many ways of ensnaring God’s people, but when he seeks to hinder our prayer life his attack is to sever us from the very source of the mercy, grace and help we need.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit … .” Ephesians 6:18
And when Satan hinders our reading of the word of God his attack is to sever us from the very source of our necessary food that thoroughly furnishes us with all the spiritual nutrients we need for perfect spiritual health.
“Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart … .” Jeremiah 15:16
“ ... the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2 Timothy 3:15-17
Let us be no longer ignorant of Satan’s devices.
“ … for we are not ignorant of his devices.” 2 Corinthians 2:11
