This has led many sincere people to the false conclusion that, if men cause divisions, then men have the power to remedy them.  So the efforts are made to bring the people of God together again, are sure to fail, and, worse than failure, for they only add to the confusion among the people of God.

Once it is faced, we have the good ground on which to turn to God and plead for recovering mercy, and for this reason, God is the One Who can not only break up, but also can heal.  Ps. 147:2 and Deut 30:3

It is of the deepest importance to see that the basis of Daniel’s supplication is the fact, again and again said in his confession, that it is God Himself Who had broken up the people (Chap. 9:7, 12 and 14).  Until this fact is faced and confessed, without any reservation, there can be no recovery.
